River City Extension

A week from today we came home from our trip to the east coast. On the last night of our trip, we went to see River City Extension play at a Mowglis show they were opening for. We had seen them play at Bonnaroo back in 2011 and were psyched when we found out they would be in Boston while we were visiting.

When they came on stage and started to play, it was all I could do to keep myself from crying. I was so emotional that I had to turn away from our group of friends, stare at the ceiling, and do some hard blinks to contain the tears that were preparing to reveal what a basketcase I can be. All I could think about was all of the nights we'd drive home from work together and put on River City Extension's record, cook dinner, and let the music take away the stress of the day.

Tyler put it perfectly -- it will always be the record that reminds us of when we were young newlyweds living in our crummy little apartment. Still loving life and cherishing the few hours we had together before the next long day at work.

The album is called Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Your Anger -- what perfect marriage advice that is.
