Tacoma Museum of Glass

Yesterday we took a drive down to the Museum of Glass in Tacoma. It was fascinating to see all of the hand blown glass, especially since there is a studio right in the museum where you can watch all of the artists working. Every year they feature a particular artist and this time it was a guy named Tyler Kimball. They were working on a series of sculptures of badminton shuttlecocks. Kind of a random subject matter, but still cool.

My favorites were the blown glass shaped to look like children's submitted drawings. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of my favorite, the Donut Ninja Warrior.

There was also a room full of glowing letters that you could pick up and arrange into words. We could have played there for at least an hour. It's definitely a place we would love to go back to with more visitors.
